Gumpert Apollo R in Geneva

Along with the new Apollo Enraged, Gumpert also showcased the Apollo R which is a racing car of the Apollo model. It seems that the German hypercar builder have built the Apollo R to rival the Pagani Zonda R.

Gumpert Apollo R is a track only version which powered by a fully modified 4.2 liter V8 twin-turbocharged engine. With the modified engine, the Apollo R is now able to develops a staggering 860 hp. The top speed for the Apollo R is estimated at 308 km/h while accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

Some parts that have been modified by Gumpert includes ignition and control time adjustments, a higher supercharging pressure, a racing exhaust system, optimized air intake ducts, engine and gearbox cooling, and also a spur-toothed dog ring transmission.

Gumpert had strip out the interior which makes the Apollo R gets 1,100 kg on its weight. However, to balance the stability and traction, Gumpert provide the Apollo R with a titanium blade stabilizer on the rear axle.
